Pattern Maker

We are seeking an experienced Pattern Maker to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate garment patterns from sketches, technical specifications, measurements, and design concepts. The role involves creating patterns, preparing samples, making fit adjustments, and ensuring patterns are suitable for production while maintaining garment quality, fit, and construction requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create basic and complex garment patterns based on technical specifications.
• Develop patterns for different apparel categories such as medical scrub suits, tunics, lab coats, workwear and industrial overalls.
• Prepare patterns for sample development and production.
• Conduct fittings and modify patterns according to fit comments.
• Perform pattern grading for different sizes for UK / EU / USA markets.
• Create and modify patterns using CAD software such as Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, or similar systems.
• Check measurements and ensure patterns comply with approved size specifications.
• Prepare pattern pieces, markers, and production-ready files.
• Work closely with designers, merchandisers, sample room staff, garment technicians, and production teams.
• Analyze samples and identify construction or fitting problems.
• Make corrections to patterns to improve fit, appearance, and manufacturability.
• Ensure seam allowances, notches, grain lines, drill holes, and other pattern details are correctly applied.
• Maintain pattern records, revisions, and style files.
• Follow company quality standards and customer requirements.
• Support the development of new styles and ensure patterns are completed within required deadlines.

Candidate Profile:

• 5+ years practical experience in apparel pattern making.
• Certificate, diploma, or relevant qualification in Apparel Technology, Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or Garment Manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of garment construction and sewing techniques.
• Strong understanding of body measurements, garment fitting, grading, and fabric behaviour.
• Experience with apparel CAD software.
• Ability to interpret technical packs, sketches, and measurement charts.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to identify and solve fitting and pattern-related problems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under production deadlines.
